Thunderbird Mail Client Setup Instructions for MPexchange

This article covers process of setting up an Exchange account in Mozilla Thunderbird mail client, which is not supported in Intermedia environment.


Note: In Thunderbird mail client you can connect to your Exchange account only via POP/IMAP protocol.

Process

When you set up the client you need to navigate to Manual Config and use following settings:


Thunderbird Setup Instructions

For Incoming mail:

  • Email Protocol: IMAP

  • Server hostname: Your Incoming Mail server name. You can find the server name in HostPilot under Home > Exchange Servers & Settings > Incoming Mail (POP/IMAP).

  • Port: 993

  • Security Protocol: SSL/TLS

  • Authentication: Normal Password

For Outgoing mail:

  • Email Protocol: SMTP

  • Server hostname: Your Incoming Mail server name. You can find the server name in HostPilot under Home > Exchange Servers & Settings > Outgoing Mail (SMTP).

  • Port: 587

  • Security Protocol: STARTTLS

  • Authentication: Normal Password

  • Username: Full email address

Important: For POP/IMAP mailboxes on Exchange accounts you can find the server name in HostPilot® Control Panel > Services > POP/IMAP Email > Instructions.
