Description

This article summarises the key product updates from our vendor partners for August 2026. Updates span Octiga platform improvements, Check Point Avanan incident investigation enhancements, MPaware pricing changes, NinjaOne SaaS Backup reporting and reauthorisation updates, and upcoming Microsoft CSP pricing changes.

Octiga

The next evolution of Octiga is getting closer

Octiga continues to evolve with a renewed focus on making Microsoft 365 security management easier for engineers, without simplifying or weakening the outcomes they need to deliver.

  • More intuitive navigation and workflows
  • Less time moving between screens and searching for what matters
  • Clearer visibility into where attention is needed

The new experience is designed to help engineers move through common workflows more confidently, with clearer visibility into where attention is needed and less time spent switching between screens. The goal is to help L1 engineers work with more of the confidence and context typically expected from senior team members.

Check Point Avanan

ThreatCloud intelligence added to incident investigations

Avanan now adds ThreatCloud intelligence directly into incident investigations, giving analysts faster context on suspicious senders, URLs and attachments.

Selecting the new intelligence icon opens an IOC panel with details such as reputation, malicious activity, threat actors, geography and timing, reducing the need to check separate threat intelligence tools.

Why it matters: SOC teams can validate threats faster and make more informed response decisions.

Legitimate emails restored after false phishing reports

Avanan can now restore legitimate emails to a user’s inbox when a phishing report is reviewed and found to be false.

After an administrator declines a report, or Check Point determines the email is safe, the user is notified and the message is moved back from Deleted Items.

Why it matters: Users spend less time recovering emails that were reported by mistake.

Simplified Outlook Add-In management

Avanan now uses a single XML configuration for both Classic Outlook and New Outlook add-in deployments.

This simplifies rollout across mixed Outlook environments and reduces the need to manage multiple deployment files.

Why it matters: Configuration changes are easier to manage through the Microsoft Admin Center, with less disruption for users.

MPaware

New pricing model coming soon

MPaware is moving to a simpler, more transparent pricing model designed to make security awareness training easier to add to client offerings of any size.

  • Pricing will move from tiered groups to per user, per month.
  • No upfront costs
  • No minimum user count

Why it matters: Per-user, per-month pricing with no upfront costs and no minimum user count makes MPaware easier to position for smaller clients as well as larger organisations.

NinjaOne SaaS Backup

Streamlined Portal Experience

As part of an ongoing effort to deliver a consistent user experience, the NinjaOne SaaS Backup Entra Portal is merging into the End-User Portal. Previously, there were two separate portals, one for the regular backups and one for entraID, but they are merging them into the one portal. All existing Entra Portal functionality will be available in a dedicated Entra menu in the End-User Portal. The standalone Entra Portal will no longer be accessible.

We are not sure when this will be implemented, please reach out to your Partner Manager if you have issues.

Groups and Teams added to Backup Summary Report

The Backup Summary Report now includes backup health and coverage for Groups and Teams, helping partners and customers review Microsoft 365 backup status across more workloads.

Reports can be accessed in two ways:

  • Email notification: Activate the portal configuration to receive the report automatically on the 5th of each month.
  • Portal download: Download the report directly from the portal at any time. A new report is automatically generated on the 5th of each month.

Why it matters: The report gives partners a clearer way to confirm backup coverage, identify issues, support compliance conversations, and share service outcomes with customers.

Automatic service tickets for Entra backup and restore errors

NinjaOne SaaS Backup can now automatically create service tickets for selected Entra backup and restore issues when an organisation uses a connected PSA platform such as HaloPSA, SuperOps, ConnectWise or Autotask.

Included scenarios: General backup errors, authentication errors and first-time restore errors.

Exchange Online connection update: quick reauthorisation

Microsoft is retiring older Exchange Online connection methods used by some third-party applications. NinjaOne SaaS Backup has already been updated to align with this change, but some affected organisations will need to reauthorise their Microsoft 365 instances to keep email restore and migration features working as expected.

This reauthorisation does not affect data security, backup schedules or cause data loss. If action is required, a notification banner will appear in the NinjaOne SaaS Backup End-User Portal to guide the organisation through the process.

What partners need to know

For affected organisations only, email restore or migration may be temporarily unavailable until the organisation reauthorises its Microsoft 365 domain. The required action only needs to be completed once, and all other features remain unchanged.

Partners and resellers can monitor which organisations require action via the NinjaOne SaaS Backup Partner Portal and remind affected customers to complete reauthorisation.

Why it matters: A quick one-time reauthorisation helps avoid disruption to email restore and migration features for affected customers.

Microsoft

CSP pricing changes effective 1 October 2026

Microsoft is making pricing and margin changes to its Cloud Solution Provider program from 1 October 2026.

  • Reduced partner margin on selected legacy and standalone products: Microsoft’s list price is not changing, but partner margin on products such as Microsoft 365 Apps, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Office 365 E1/E3 will reduce by approximately 5% from 1 October.
  • New growth margin opportunity: Eligible partners may be able to reduce costs by 15–25% on products such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, E5/E7, and the Defender and Purview suites where eligibility criteria are met.
  • 5% uplift on selected annual-term software subscriptions billed monthly: Products such as SQL Server and Windows Server will receive a direct price increase at renewal when held on an annual-term, monthly-billed subscription.
