Description

Product Updates for February.

Please note that some of these features are being enabled gradually.

Updates:

Avanan:

Enhanced Reporting and Alerting on Leaked Data

  • Administrator alerts and custom queries now report not only on the leaked data category, but also on the specific leaked data types.
  • Avanan now enhances reporting and alerting on DLP incidents in two ways:
    • 1. Custom Queries:
      • New feature to not only filter and report (as an additional column) on the DLP category (PII, PCI etc.) but also on the actual data type that was detected in the incident.
      • To do that, simply add the Data Types filter or column to the custom query

    • 2. Administrative Alerts:
      • Administrators can add the list of individual data types that were detected to the alert sent to administrators.
      • To do that – configure one of the alerts and under the list of tags, add the DLP Data Types tag.

Restrict Users with Access to the End User Portal

  • Administrators can select which users have access to the end user portal.
  • To limit the access to the End User Portal, Go to Security Settings > User Interaction > Quarantine > End User Portal > Allowed Users.
There, change the default All users to Select users add the users/groups you wish to have access to the End User Portal.

Marketing Resource Center

  • The new Marketing Resource Center launched February 25, 2025 and is available in the portal.
  • Visit the Marketing Resource Center (MRC) by going to the left-hand column in the portal under “Marketing Resources.”

API Update

  • A change was recently made to our API that might impact current integrations for some.
  • Clients on our system can disable access to the Security Policy and Other Policy sections of our platform for specific accounts. As part of this update, if access to either section is disabled for a client, there will be no references to that section in reporting.
  • Consequently, when Security Policy or Other Policy access is disabled, the Policies Acknowledgement Date and Other Policies Acknowledgement Date keys will no longer be present in the JSON returned by our API.
  • Tip: To avoid breaking changes, please ensure your integration can handle the absence of the Policies Acknowledgement Date and Other Policies Acknowledgement Date keys. This ensures your code will continue to function properly regardless of whether the keys are included in the response.

Dark Web Report Updates

  • Revised text in the “Purpose and Background” section
  • General visual enhancements
  • Text refinements throughout for improved clarity
  • Additional Calls to Action in the last section of the report which encourage the adoption of Security Awareness Training and Multi-Factor Authentication

More Accurate Email Download Information

  • The email download pop-up to provide more precise file size details, addressing inconsistencies between the UI display and actual downloaded files has been refreshed.
  • Additionally, file size information is now available on the download status page once the file is ready

Easier Email Destination Selection for Migrations

  • The Advanced Search migration feature now includes a search box, making it simpler to handle large datasets and select the correct email destination.

More Flexibility in Backing Up Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks

  • Microsoft 365 backups now support selective workload backups beyond email. You can now choose to back up Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks separately. This enhancement builds on our modular backup capabilities for SharePoint, OneDrive, Shared Drives, and Google Drive

Clearer PSA Ticket Mapping Terminology

  • To improve navigation and usability, we've updated ticket mapping terminology across the four PSA integrations in the Partner Portal. These refinements provide a more intuitive mapping experience.

Improved Entra Restore Process

  • Restoring Entra now requires an additional step for security. Unlike backups that only need read permissions, restore operations require elevated privileges to ensure data integrity and proper security controls. Simply install the required app to complete the process.
