Information as to requirements for backing up public folders


The Process


To backup public folders, Dropsuite needs to access these public folders. As public folders are an extension of the email system, and require a mailbox to be accessed, you need a mailbox enabled global admin account - this will be the account that was used to provision Dropsuite initially, or when adding public folders via the 'Add Backup' option.


Note that if previously your global admin had an exchange license and you added the public folders into backup and later the exchange license was revoked from the global admin account, the public folders will become inactive.
