What is a Channel and How Do We Use Them

This article will explain what a channel is under a team and how you can create them. Channels show up for everyone in your team, so please make sure it is useful before creating. Only Team Owners will be able to create Channels.

Requirements

• Signed into Teams browser or App
• Team Owner rights

The Process

Channels are dedicated sections within a team to keep conversations organised by specific topics, projects, disciplines.

Team channels are places where everyone on the team can openly have conversations. Private chats are only visible to those people in the chat.

• Click on the ... next to the Team you are an Owner of
• Select Add channel

• Give the Channel a name that makes sense

• Click Add
